ECO Mark Renewal on Fuel-Efficient Tires
Osaka, Japan - August 4, 2009 - TOYO TIRE & RUBBER Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Kenji Nakakura) announces that it renews ECO mark. The existing mark has been on fuel-efficient tires sold in Japan, which reduced rolling resistance by 10% compared to the conventional products. This renewed ECO mark will be adopted all over the world in future.
This mark is designed based on a new green leaf and "E" for ECO is placed in it.
New designed ECO mark will be gradually adopted on fuel-efficient tires after "ECO WALKER", which will be initially launched in Japan. This is a universal mark and will be adopted all fuel-efficient tires of TOYO TIRES including for passenger cars, light trucks, trucks and busses.
TOYO TIRES aims to shift all products to eco-friendly products by around 2015.
