Formerly known as “The Paris-Dakar Rally,” the Dakar Rally is an annual off-road rally-raid. Held since 1979, the race spans the European and African continents and has three competitive classes: cars, motorbikes, and trucks. Traversing thousands of kilometers through the Sahara Desert with few villages or aid stations along the route and lasting more than two weeks, the Dakar Rally is often quoted as the toughest endurance race in the world.
